Half-Term Golf Tournament

Daniel played a golf tournament last half-term. He has been taking lessons at school.


The tournament was played at a local 9-hole, par 3 course. I didn't watch but he shot 44 and came 4th of 22 (the winner shot 36).

Mini-Orange at Wellington

Another Orange tournament this time at Wellington School on a bitterly cold Saturday afternoon... the 13th of February. At various times it snowed and hailed and Daniel stillplayed the whole thing in shorts!


There were 11 kids there, unusually 7 girls to 4 boys. They split into two boxes a 5 and a 6. Daniel was in the box of 5 so had 4 matches to play.


These were is results in the box (opponent rank first)
Orange 3 Won 7-5 7-0
Orange 2 Won 7-5 6-8 7-4
Orange 3 Won 7-2 7-2
Orange 3 Won 7-0 7-1


That got him into the final where he played an Orange 1 ranked girl. He eventually lost 5-7 7-5 6-8 so very, very close. By the end I was glad to get back to a heated car an go home.
